Historical NFL player prop odds APIs, compared

Six APIs that serve NFL player props, by what history they keep, whether they return results, books, price and MCP support. Checked against each provider's site.

Comparison facts checked October 19, 2026. EndzoneAPI data last refreshed 2026-10-19 13:05 UTC, newest data through 2026 season. Changelog

For historical NFL player prop lines with what the player actually did, the choice is between collecting odds snapshots yourself and pairing them with a stats source, or an API that does the join. The Odds API has the deepest public prop archive (every five minutes since May 3 2023, from $30 a month) but no results. SportsDataIO, OpticOdds and SportsGameOdds return results alongside odds, behind sales calls or a $299 plan for history. EndzoneAPI returns each player's closing line beside his stat line and the over or under, a season in one call, from $19 a month.

EndzoneAPI's prop lines come from The Odds API's archive, sampled near kickoff for past games and captured up to five times before each kickoff since October 2026. If you need every snapshot, more than seven books or in-play odds, go to a full odds feed. If you need the closing line and the result for a backtest, the join is already done here.

The options

  • The Odds API

Odds from over 100 bookmakers, live and historical. Player props and alternate lines are historical from May 3 2023, as snapshots every five minutes.

Free: 500 credits a month. Paid from $30 a month (20,000 credits), all plans marked Historical Odds; a historical call costs 10 credits per region per market. Scores reach back three days only, so results need a separate source. No MCP server or Python SDK listed.

  • SportsDataIO

A full NFL data feed: scores, stats, odds from 20+ sportsbooks, and props with line movement and results, published 10 to 15 minutes after each game.

Props older than 30 days sit in a separate Betting Data Archive (per its support guide); no prices published for it. No MCP server found.

  • OpticOdds

Real-time odds from 200+ sportsbooks with a historical odds endpoint, results and bet grading, and a hosted MCP server.

Pricing by demo only. Earliest NFL prop history not stated.

  • SportsGameOdds

Hundreds of NFL player and game prop markets from 85+ bookmakers; each odd carries the actual outcome once the game ends. Python and JavaScript SDKs.

Free tier (9 books); historical data on the Pro plan ($299 a month) and above, per its pricing page. Earliest date not stated.

  • Odds-API.io

Odds from several hundred bookmakers including NFL player props, with a local MCP server (25 tools) whose historical tool returns closing odds and the final score.

Paid plans from £49 a month (two books); new free keys paused. Earliest prop history not stated.

  • BALLDONTLIE

A multi-sport API with live odds and player props from major US sportsbooks, NFL stats and a hosted MCP server.

Odds and props on the GOAT plan, $39.99 a month per sport. Whether NFL prop history is kept, and from when, not stated.

One call covers up to 200 games for 10 credits. The line is the median of the books' closing lines; pass bookmaker for one book's.

Use the other odds APIs instead if

  • You need every price change before kickoff, not the closing line: The Odds API keeps a snapshot every five minutes.
  • You need in-play odds or a book EndzoneAPI does not carry: OpticOdds, SportsGameOdds and Odds-API.io cover hundreds.
  • You want official, graded results across every sport from one vendor and a sales contract is fine: SportsDataIO.
  • You only need this week's lines for a live tool and no history.

Questions

What is the cheapest API for historical NFL player props?

With the results attached, EndzoneAPI: 500 free credits a month, then $19, and a player's season in one market is one 10-credit call. For raw snapshots without results, The Odds API's paid plans start at $30 a month.

How far back do historical NFL player props go?

The public archives start in 2023: The Odds API's player props from May 3 2023, which is where EndzoneAPI's history starts too. Nothing we found publishes NFL prop lines from earlier seasons at a listed price.

Do I need a separate stats source to grade props?

With The Odds API, yes: its scores reach back three days. EndzoneAPI, SportsDataIO, OpticOdds and SportsGameOdds return the result with the line.

Opening line or closing line for a backtest?

Most props backtests use the closing line, the last price before kickoff. EndzoneAPI returns the closing line by default and the opening line where it holds an earlier capture.
