How do I get NFL standings in Python?
The NFL table for 2026: record, point differential, streak and playoff seed for all 32 teams. Kansas City and Minnesota, both 4-0, held the top seeds.
Code verified October 12, 2026. One call to get_standings, 2 credits.
The call
season is the year the regular season starts and defaults to the current one. Filter with conference or division. conference_rank is the playoff seed, with the four division winners in seeds 1 to 4.
import requests
import pandas as pd
API_KEY = "YOUR_API_KEY"
resp = requests.post(
"https://mcp.endzoneapi.com/v1/get_standings",
headers={"x-api-key": API_KEY},
json={},
timeout=60,
)
resp.raise_for_status()
data = resp.json()["data"]
table = pd.DataFrame(data["standings"])
print("season", data["season"], "-", len(table), "teams")
cols = ["conference_rank", "team", "wins", "losses", "ties", "point_diff", "streak"]
for conf, rows in table.groupby("conference"):
print(conf)
print(rows.sort_values("conference_rank")[cols].head(7).to_string(index=False))
Replace YOUR_API_KEY with a key from your dashboard. Python needs requests and pandas (pip install requests pandas). JavaScript runs on Node 18 or newer, or in the browser.
What comes back
The data object of the response, trimmed to the first rows. Every field is real output from the run above.

"note": "Ranks apply the NFL tiebreaking procedure: head-to-head, division record, common games, conference record, strength of victory, strength of schedule, the points rankings, then net points. conference_rank is the playoff seed, so the four division winners hold seeds 1-4 regardless of record. division_tiebreaker and conference_tiebreaker name the step that decided each position, or 'record' when the club was never tied. The published ladder's last two steps, net touchdowns and a coin toss, are not applied; anything still tied after net points is ordered by team code."
